Wahbi Khazri, the attacking midfielder from Bastia, faced an aborted transfer to Saint-Etienne and is currently considering various options. Two Italian clubs, Sassuolo and AS Roma, have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Tunisian international.
Although Khazri is under contract with Bastia until June 2015, he remains open to potential offers from other clubs. In an interview with RMC, he stated, “I am open to any proposal. If I don’t have any offers by the end of the transfer window, I would stay in Bastia. I have been at the club for eight years. I like this city. I always gave my all.”
Khazri emphasized his commitment to Bastia but expressed a willingness to explore opportunities elsewhere if an attractive offer with a promising sporting project arises, whether from a French or foreign club. The 22-year-old midfielder also addressed a recent incident where he missed a training session and a friendly match against Gazélec Ajaccio, citing dissatisfaction with the club’s management.
He explained, “Personally, I have always been honest and upright towards the club and the managers. I had an exit voucher from June. In July, Saint-Etienne made an offer, but Bastia did not respect this agreement and refused the Greens’ offer.” This situation adds an element of uncertainty to Khazri’s future, making it intriguing to see how the transfer window unfolds for the talented Tunisian player.
