The draw for the WAFU Zone A Under-20 Nations Tournament was held on Wednesday in Conakry, with Antonio Souaré, president of the zone, overseeing proceedings. Eight nations have confirmed their participation, with Cape Verde the only country absent.
In Group A, the host nation Guinea will face Mauritania, Senegal, and Sierra Leone. The reformed Group B features the defending champion Gambia, alongside Mali, Liberia, and Guinea-Bissau.
Originally slated for November 14-24, the tournament has been rescheduled to run from November 24 to December 8. Matches will take place at the September 28 Stadium and the Nongo Stadium, marking the first time these venues host international fixtures. The competition promises to showcase emerging talent from across West Africa in a tightly contested format.
