Algeria head coach Vladimir Petković is closely monitoring domestic players as he prepares for the national team’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Botswana and Mozambique in March.
The Swiss manager, who has already integrated several European-based talents, is now focusing on strengthening key positions, particularly in defense and goalkeeping.
On Tuesday, he attended the Ligue 1 match between ASO Chlef and Paradou AC at the Mohamed Boumezrag Stadium, accompanied by assistant Nabil Neghiz and fitness coach Paolo Rongoni.
Among those under scrutiny was ASO Chlef goalkeeper Abdel Rahmane Medjadel, who impressed with a penalty save.
Defender Achraf Abada, having an outstanding season, is also being considered for a potential call-up.
With Mohamed Amine Meddani struggling for form, Abada could be a surprise addition.
Petković is expected to announce an expanded squad soon, with Algeria set to face Botswana on March 19 and Mozambique on March 22 in crucial World Cup qualifiers.
