Vladimir Petkovic: “African football has veolved and all teams are now equal”
Petkovic elaborated on this point, stating, “First and foremost, I must say that there are no longer any small teams in modern football.
” Speaking exclusively to the Algerian Football Federation’s website on Friday, he added, “We must respect all our opponents because all teams are now equal. Especially in Africa, where football has developed significantly in recent years.”
The coach’s remarks come as Algeria prepares for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to navigate through a competitive field where traditional powerhouses and emerging teams alike vie for continental glory.
Petkovic, known for his strategic acumen and astute observations, highlighted the dynamic shift in African football dynamics, underscoring the continent’s rising competitiveness and parity among national teams.
“Every match in African football now presents a formidable challenge,” Petkovic emphasized.
