Vinicius Junior marks Real Madrid renewal with message promising ‘forever’ at Bernabeu

Vinicius Junior has publicly celebrated his new Real Madrid contract after the club ended a lengthy period of negotiations by securing the Brazil forward’s future until 30 June 2032.

The 25-year-old posted a message on Instagram following the announcement, writing: “8 years at the Bernabeu, it is far too short.. 6 more years and forever”.

Real Madrid confirmed earlier that it had reached an agreement with Vinicius Junior to extend his contract, keeping him tied to the club until the summer of 2032.

The agreement brings an end to extended discussions between the player and the club. Vinicius’ previous contract was due to expire next summer, while there had been growing interest from Arsenal.

Real Madrid had also become increasingly concerned about the possibility of losing one of its most important players on a free transfer when his contract ended in the summer of 2027. The club has now secured a long-term commitment from a forward who has become central to its team since arriving in Spain.

Vinicius joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, moving to the club at the age of 18. His latest renewal means he is set to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu for several more years after establishing himself as a key figure in the side.

During his eight seasons wearing the Real Madrid shirt, Vinicius has made 375 appearances. He has scored 128 goals and won 14 trophies with the club.

His Instagram message referred to his time in Madrid so far before looking ahead to the remaining six years of his new deal. The phrase “and forever” added an emphatic personal response to the conclusion of negotiations that had continued for a considerable period.

The contract announcement also removes uncertainty surrounding the player’s immediate future. Arsenal’s interest had added to the speculation around Vinicius, while the prospect of Real Madrid eventually losing him without a transfer fee had increased pressure on the club to reach an agreement.

Instead, the Spanish club has retained a player who joined as a teenager and has gone on to make 375 appearances, score 128 times and collect 14 trophies in eight seasons.

Vinicius’ new deal keeps him at Real Madrid through 30 June 2032, extending his association with the club that began in 2018 and prompting his first public reaction to the end of the renewal saga.
