Vinicius Junior conspiracy theory takes bizarre turn over tattoo claims

A bizarre conspiracy theory alleging that Vinicius Junior has disappeared and been replaced by a lookalike to honour his advertising contracts has spread across social media in Brazil.

The claims, which emerged on Brazilian forums and TikTok accounts in September 2026, have been ignored by the player, his representatives and Real Madrid.

Supporters of the theory say the player seen at Brazil’s training camp during the match against Australia does not have the same thigh tattoo as the Vinicius Junior who plays for Real Madrid. They have also cited apparent cosmetic changes to his face as evidence that he is not the same person.

The idea first gained attention after social-media users highlighted what they described as physical differences in the footballer. It has since developed into a wider series of conspiracy claims, despite there being no evidence presented to support them.

From the CIA to an alleged alien invasion

One prominent account on X, @BlackBondPtv, claimed that the CIA, the Rothschild family and ruling elites had killed Vinicius and replaced him after the World Cup.

Other posts have linked the supposed changes in his appearance to what they described as an alleged “reptilian invasion” during the World Cup, claiming that Vinicius and Neymar were abducted. Spanish newspaper Marca reported on the claims.

A video that circulated widely around the world featured a woman identified as Fu Bahiana describing an alleged dream about extraterrestrials attacking a football stadium in Miami.

“I have to tell you that I dreamed again about extraterrestrials invading the football stadium in Miami,” she said. “I clearly saw how they abducted the players aboard the first ship that arrived. I was inside that ship, and when I got on, the mothership arrived and abducted thousands of people from the stadium. I saw screaming, crying and unimaginable suffering.”

A separate post shared by Lives Foot on 28 September 2026 said a conspiracy theory in Brazil claimed Vinicius had vanished in mysterious circumstances and been replaced by a double so that his advertising agreements could continue.

The claim had already been circulated by the @BlackBondPtv account in a post dated 25 September 2026, which stated: “A completely crazy conspiracy theory says that the CIA, the Rothschilds and the elites killed and replaced Vinicius after the World Cup.”

Neither Vinicius Junior’s representatives nor Real Madrid have responded to the claims. Those close to the player and the club have treated the stories as baseless online speculation unworthy of a response, while the posts continue to attract millions of views.
