Vinicius Jr offers Real Madrid injury relief after Sevilla scare

Real Madrid have been handed a welcome boost after fears over Vinicius Jr’s fitness eased in the wake of their 1-0 win away to Sevilla.

The Brazilian forward appeared to be in trouble late on at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but the issue is now understood to be only minor.

Vinicius was substituted in the 77th minute after feeling discomfort in his right leg, just moments after scoring the goal that sealed all three points for Madrid. His reaction on the bench and visible discomfort immediately sparked concern among the coaching staff and supporters.

Post-match images showed him with ice strapped to his shin and leaving the stadium with a slight limp, adding to early worries that he could be facing a spell on the sidelines. However, reporter Sergio Quirante has since indicated that the problem is not considered serious within the club.

The player himself also moved to reassure fans when asked about his condition after the game, simply saying: “I’m fine” as he made his way out of the stadium. With important fixtures still ahead, Real Madrid will be relieved that their star winger appears set to avoid a major setback.
