President Vincent Labrune has held the helm at OM since June 2011, and amid current challenges, he stands by his accomplishments. In an interview with L’Equipe, he defended his track record, emphasizing that his team successfully steered OM away from an economic crisis.
Here are some excerpts: – “We had announced a transition year to recover from losses accumulated over several years. Eventually, you must confront reality. Last season, we faced an industrial accident while finishing tenth. We found ourselves in a financially precarious situation beyond imagination. Our priority was to rescue, quite simply, the club from bankruptcy. In eight months, we achieved what we had initially planned for two years. – The external factors don’t contribute to creating an ultra-serene atmosphere for us. We need the players to feel supported, to have confidence to go all the way.” – “Criticism, at this moment, I take poorly. I’ve been tackled for years, and I never respond. I believe I have pretty broad shoulders and back.”
