Wolfsburg Join Race for Lorient Striker Vincent Aboubakar
Vincent Aboubakar, who netted 16 goals last season for FC Lorient, has attracted interest from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg, according to reports on Thursday. The Wolfsburger Nachrichten revealed that Wolfsburg, who finished fifth in the German top flight last term, are keen to secure the services of the Cameroonian forward.
Lorient have indicated they will consider selling Aboubakar if a suitable offer arrives, with the club reportedly demanding a transfer fee of around €10 million. The talented striker, nicknamed the “Lion King,” has also drawn attention from several other clubs across Europe.
Among those expressing interest are Premier League side Southampton, Bundesliga newcomers Hertha Berlin, and Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, suggesting Aboubakar is a highly sought-after prospect this summer.
With multiple suitors vying for his signature, the Cameroonian international’s next destination is yet to be decided, but it seems certain he will be on the move this transfer window.
