Vincent Aboubakar: Bursaspor linked with move for Neftchi PFK striker

Bursaspor are being linked with a move for Cameroon centre-forward Vincent Aboubakar, who is currently on the books of Azerbaijani side Neftchi PFK.

The 34-year-old, valued at €700,000 on Transfermarkt, is the subject of transfer speculation over a switch from the Premyer Liqa to Türkiye’s 2. Lig Kirmizi, with the probability of any deal currently listed as unknown (“?”) in the latest reports.

Aboubakar’s contract situation at Neftchi is unclear, with no expiry date publicly listed, leaving open the possibility that he could become a free agent if his deal has run down or is close to expiring. That uncertainty has fuelled suggestions that Bursaspor could move for a low-fee transfer or wait to see whether he becomes available on a free.

A right-footed centre-forward, Aboubakar wears the number 45 shirt for Neftchi and stands at 1.84m. Born in Garoua on 22 January 1992, he is listed solely as a Cameroon national. His current role is described as “Attack – Centre-Forward”, underlining Bursaspor’s interest in adding an experienced focal point to their front line.

Recent data shows Aboubakar has been active for Neftchi in the Azerbaijani top flight, though detailed statistics and individual match breakdowns beyond that are not specified in the latest records. No specific recent game – including opponent, date, scoreline or performance details – is documented in the information available.

The move, if completed, would take an established international-level striker from the Premyer Liqa into the Turkish system at a time when Bursaspor continue to rebuild. With his market value relatively modest and his contractual status not publicly defined, Aboubakar’s next step remains open – and a switch to Bursaspor could offer a late-career platform to extend his reputation in another league.
