Victor Osimhen undergoes successful surgery after Liverpool injury setback
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has undergone successful surgery following the injury he sustained in the UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The procedure was carried out on March 23 at Maslak Acibadem Hospital in Istanbul. The operation was led by the club’s chief physician and surgical specialist, Yener Ince, with everything reported to have gone according to plan.
Galatasaray confirmed the development in an official statement, expressing their support for the Nigerian forward during his recovery. “We wish our player a full and swift recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
Osimhen picked up the injury during the away leg of the Round of 16 tie against Liverpool, forcing him off early and leaving his side without one of their most influential players.
The 27-year-old has been central to Galatasaray’s attacking strength this season, making his absence a major setback as the club continues to fight on both domestic and European fronts.
Club medical staff will now oversee his rehabilitation, with optimism that he will return to full fitness in the coming weeks.
