Victor Osimhen set to stay at Galatasaray

Galatasaray president Durzun Ozbek has made it clear that star striker Victor Osimhen is not for sale this summer, despite links to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Ozbek said: “We are not considering selling Victor Osimhen. Putting a price on a player we don’t intend to sell is like dressing a footballer before he’s even born,” before adding that the Nigerian is “making the second generation Galatasaray fans.”

The 27‑year‑old Nigerian is now a fan favourite at the club, having initially joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli. On 31 August 2024, Osimhen moved on a season‑long loan with the Turkish side covering his €6 million net salary and contributing to his image rights.

After a stellar campaign, Napoli activated his €75 million release clause on 31 July 2025, paving the way for a permanent four‑year deal, the highest fee ever paid in Turkish football history.

Since arriving, he has scored 59 goals and laid on 16 assists in 74 games, firing Galatasaray to back‑to‑back Super Lig titles and enjoying another strong Champions League run with seven goals and three assists in 10 matches.
