Victor Osimhen reveals Liverpool stars’ gesture after Anfield injury
Victor Osimhen has revealed that Liverpool duo Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai personally reached out to him after the Galatasaray striker suffered a fractured hand at Anfield in midweek.
The Nigerian forward was injured when Konate’s knee accidentally crashed into his hand during a challenge.
“Konate sent me a DM on Instagram after the game to check on me, and Dominik Szoboszlai said he didn’t know the injury was so serious,” Osimhen explained, highlighting the respect shown by his opponents despite the intensity of the Champions League clash.
Osimhen played through the pain for the rest of the first half, but struggled to make his usual impact and was substituted at the break. Liverpool went on to win 4-0 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate, ending Galatasaray’s run in the competition.
The post-match messages from Konate and Szoboszlai offered a more human side to the contest, underlining the solidarity that often exists between elite players when serious injuries occur.
