Victor Osimhen has once again etched his name into African football history, sealing a €75 million move from Napoli to Galatasaray, his second appearance in the top three of the continent’s most expensive transfers.
The Nigerian striker, who first broke through at the Under-17 World Cup, continues to command attention with his sharp rise from Lagos to Europe’s biggest stages.
This latest switch puts him level in third place with Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who joined Manchester City in winter 2025. Osimhen’s earlier transfer from Lille to Napoli for €78.9 million still ranks as the priciest for an African player.
Leading the pack is Ivorian Nicolas Pepe’s €80 million switch to Arsenal from Lille, a move that promised much but ultimately faded. He later left on a free to Turkey.
Cameroon’s Bryan Mbeumo now joins the elite list with his £75 million move to Manchester United. Others in the top 10 include Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus, Gabon’s Aubameyang, and Guinea’s Naby Keita, each part of a new era of African stars making record-breaking moves.
