Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has moved to calm nerves around Victor Osimhen, confirming the Nigerian striker is recovering well after surgery on his fractured arm in Istanbul.

The operation was described as a complete success, and the Nigerian forward has already begun the first steps of his rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical staff.

“Osimhen is perfectly healthy. He underwent a very successful surgery. God willing, he will return to the field as soon as possible” Ozbek said, offering reassurance to worried supporters.

Early estimates point to around five weeks on the sidelines, but inside the club there is quiet optimism he could be back in time for the high-stakes derby on April 26, a match that could prove decisive in the Turkish title race.

In Osimhen’s absence, Galatasaray will lean heavily on experienced attackers such as Mauro Icardi and Leroy Sane to keep their momentum going domestically and in Europe.

The club remains confident that with Osimhen’s determination and the medical team’s support, he will return sharp and ready for the season’s defining run-in.
