Victor Osimhen clause makes Juventus transfer virtually impossible

Victor Osimhen’s reported interest from Juventus is facing a significant obstacle due to a penalty clause written into his transfer agreement, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nigeria striker has been linked with a move to Juventus FC, but contractual conditions tied to his switch last summer are said to make any deal extremely difficult.

The Italian newspaper reports that a financial clause would be triggered if he were sold to another Serie A club within 24 months of his arrival.

Under the terms outlined, compensation would be due if Osimhen joined an Italian side before September 2026.

The reported fee stands at €70 million during the first year of that period and would fall to €50 million in the second year. Such figures would represent a substantial additional cost on top of any transfer agreement.

Osimhen is currently playing for Galatasaray, having completed a move that involved SSC Napoli. The structure of that arrangement appears designed to prevent a swift return to Italy with a domestic rival.

Financial considerations extend beyond the clause itself. The striker is reportedly earning around €15 million per year in Istanbul, excluding bonuses.

That salary level is described as being beyond Juventus’ current financial reach, further complicating any potential move.

While interest from Turin has been reported, the combination of contractual restrictions and high wages makes the prospect of Osimhen joining Juventus unlikely under present conditions.

For now, the clause remains a decisive factor, effectively blocking what might otherwise have been one of the most high-profile transfers involving a Serie A rival.
