Victor Osimhen: Man Utd eye move for Galatasaray and Nigeria striker
Victor Osimhen, the Nigeria international centre-forward currently at Galatasaray, is being linked with a summer move to Manchester United as the Premier League club step up their search for a leading striker. The 27-year-old, valued at around €75m, has been identified as a major target, with the chances of a deal currently rated at 65%.
Osimhen is under contract with the Turkish champions until 30 June 2029 after joining Galatasaray on a long-term deal in July 2025, meaning any transfer would require United to negotiate a sizeable fee. His prolific form in the Super Lig, where he finished as top scorer in the 2024-25 season with 31 goals, has reinforced his status as one of Europe’s most coveted forwards.
The Lagos-born striker has been central to Galatasaray’s recent dominance, helping them win back-to-back Turkish league titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, as well as lifting the domestic cup in 2024-25. His performances in Turkiye earned him recognition as Footballer of the Year in 2025 and TM-Player of the Season in 2025 and 2026.
Osimhen’s reputation at the highest level was established earlier in his career when he fired SSC Napoli to the Italian title in 2022-23 and collected individual honours including African Footballer of the Year in 2023. A right-footed, 1.86m centre-forward, he has also been a consistent scorer for Nigeria across youth and senior competitions.
For now, Osimhen remains a key figure at Galatasaray, tied to the club for another three years, leaving United to consider whether they are prepared to test the Turkish side’s resolve with a bid matching his long-term importance and substantial valuation.
