Victor Osimhen embraces Juventus test and dreams of future move
Victor Osimhen is set for a charged return to Turin as Galatasaray prepare to face Juventus in the Champions League, with the Nigerian striker openly embracing both the challenge and the emotions around it.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Osimhen underlined how much the game means to him and his teammates.
“Tomorrow’s game is very important, and we all know it. We play against Juventus, a very strong team with many quality players. We don’t want to underestimate them, but we have experienced players ready to face this match. We want to play like in the first leg. It won’t be easy, especially for them, but we want to win.”
Osimhen also spoke candidly about his long-standing admiration for the Italian giants and a move that once fell through. “Juventus is one of the most important clubs, rich in history with many legends. When they approached me before Galatasaray, I wanted to come, but there were some obstacles. The move didn’t happen, but if opportunities arise in the future, there are several clubs I’d like to play for. Playing there would be a privilege. But I’m happy at Galatasaray and love the club. I don’t know what the future holds. 90% of players in the world would want to play for Juventus.”
On the pitch, Osimhen expects another fierce personal battle with the Juventus defence. “Defenders know facing me is a nightmare! I expect this in every match I play. They’ll try to limit me and my team. I’m not the only threat – five goals were scored last time and I didn’t score! The danger comes from the whole team. I’m ready to face all defenders and make things difficult for them.”
With 15 goals and 5 assists in 23 appearances this season, Osimhen arrives in Turin as Galatasaray’s main weapon and one of Europe’s in-form strikers, ready to show once again why so many top clubs admire him.
