Victor Moses Linked with West Brom Move Amid Chelsea Uncertainty
West Bromwich Albion could soon deepen its Nigerian connection as the Premier League side eyes a move for Chelsea winger Victor Moses.
The 23-year-old, who has struggled to cement a regular place at Stamford Bridge, was left behind in London—alongside compatriot John Obi Mikel—while Chelsea embarked on their pre-season tour. With his future at the club increasingly uncertain, Moses is now being linked with a switch to the Hawthorns.
According to reports in the British media, West Brom are considering a move for the Nigerian international, who spent last season on loan at Liverpool. Despite showing flashes of his potential, Moses has yet to fully convince Chelsea manager José Mourinho, who brought him to the club from Wigan Athletic in 2012.
Should the move materialise, Moses would join fellow Super Eagles Victor Anichebe and Brown Ideye at West Brom. Ideye, a recent signing from Dynamo Kyiv, was unveiled by the club last week, further strengthening their Nigerian contingent.
Moses, a key member of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning side in 2013, has seen his career stall somewhat in recent seasons, having also had loan spells at Stoke City and Liverpool. A permanent move could offer him the regular playing time he needs to revive his form and secure a place in the national squad.
Once voted Nigerian Footballer of the Year, Moses remains a player of considerable talent, capable of operating on either wing or in an attacking midfield role. A move to West Brom would mark his third Premier League club and a potential fresh start in a team looking to climb the table under manager Alan Irvine.
While no official offer has been confirmed, interest from the Midlands club reflects a growing trend of Premier League sides turning to experienced African internationals to strengthen their squads.
For Moses, a transfer could represent more than just a career move—it might be the opportunity to reignite the promise he showed as a teenager and re-establish himself among Nigeria’s top footballing talents.
