Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly nearing a contract extension for Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface, according to Transfer News Live.
The Nigerian striker has made a significant impact since joining the Bundesliga champions from Royale Union SG in a €21.7 million deal last year.
In his debut season, Boniface scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists, playing a key role in helping Leverkusen secure their first-ever Bundesliga title and reach the Europa League final.
His contributions could have been even greater if not for a thigh injury he suffered early in the year.
Despite speculation linking the 23-year-old with a transfer to a top European club, Boniface decided to stay at Leverkusen.
This season, he has continued to impress, netting seven goals and recording one assist in 13 appearances.
Although his current contract runs until 2028, the German club is eager to extend the deal, reflecting their confidence in his abilities.
The extension is expected to be finalized soon, even as Boniface recovers from an injury.
