German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg have officially bid €10 million to sign Germany-born forward of Moroccan descent, Younes Ebnoutalib.

Wolfsburg are in the market for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Mohammed Amoura to the Africa Cup of Nations, while Jonas Wind is also expected to be sidelined for a prolonged period.

This situation has prompted the club to intensify their search for a striker, with Ebnoutalib emerging as a key target.

Reports in recent days had linked Wolfsburg with interest in the highly rated forward, but a close source has now confirmed that the club has formally entered the race for his signature. E

lversberg are understood to have received a bid worth €10 million, made up of €8 million as a fixed fee and a further €2 million in performance-related bonuses. The offer, however, has been rejected by the club.

Despite Wolfsburg’s move, the source said that an agreement between Ebnoutalib and Eintracht Frankfurt remains in place.

Frankfurt are said to be confident of honouring that agreement, although their chief executive officer, Markus Krösche, has yet to submit an official offer to Elversberg.

With multiple interests, the German-Moroccan forward will decide his future by choosing his preferred destination.
