VfB Stuttgart monitor Nuremberg star Mohamed Ali Zoma

Mohamed Ali Zoma attracted serious interest during the summer transfer window but chose to remain at Nuremberg, where his excellent early-season form is already strengthening his reputation.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder was reportedly the subject of a €20 million bid from Hull City. The offer did not lead to a transfer, and the player stayed in Germany despite the prospect of a move to England.

VfB Stuttgart were also monitoring Zoma, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira. The Bundesliga club reportedly considered the Italian youth international as a potential attacking addition, although no agreement was reached before the window closed.

Zoma’s decision to continue at Nuremberg appears to be paying off. He has scored five goals in his first five league appearances this season, becoming one of the standout performers in the campaign’s opening weeks.

A close working relationship with Nuremberg manager Miroslav Klose was an important factor in his choice. Zoma is believed to value the former Germany striker’s guidance as he continues to develop his game and establish himself at senior level.

His current output is unlikely to go unnoticed. If he maintains this scoring pace, clubs that explored a summer move could return with renewed interest when the winter transfer window opens.
