South African international Thamsanqa Mkhize has parted ways with Cape Town City, bringing an end to his remarkable spell at the club.
The 36-year-old stalwart right-back leaves Cape Town City after eight-year spell at the club. Over that span, he made 270 appearances, scored nine goals, delivered 15 assists, and won two titles with the team.
The veteran South African player joined Cape Town City in 2016 and established himself as a key member of the team. His contract was renewed in 2019 after impressing the club leadership.
Having departed the club, he is expected to find himself a new club before the new season commences.
Cape Town City has been relegated to South Africa’s lower division after failing to win the relegation group play-off. Now, one of the club’s stalwarts has decided to move on.
The 36-year-old defender has made five appearances for the South African national team since making his debut in 2017.
