Trendyol 1st League side Şanlıurfaspor has secured the services of experienced midfielder Chukwuma Emmanuel Akabueze.
The 35-year-old playmaker, who last featured for Miracle Mill, has signed a contract with the club until the end of the season.
Şanlıurfaspor confirmed the signing in an official statement, emphasizing Akabueze’s addition to their squad.
“Our club signed a contract with a professional footballer Chukwuma Emmanuel Akabueze. At the signing ceremony accompanied by our club manager Mehmet Baydilli, Chukwuma Emmanuel Akabueze officially joined our team.”
With his vast experience and technical ability, Akabueze is expected to bring depth to the midfield while also bolstering the team’s defensive stability. The yellow-green side hopes his leadership and skillset will make an immediate impact as they push forward in their league campaign.
Akabueze was a member of the Nigerian team that participated in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Chile.
Career: He played for Kwara United before moving to Odd Grenland in July 2007. He later signed for SK Brann in February 2011 and transferred to Wuhan Zall in February 2013. He scored one international goal against Kenya on May 27, 2007, in a friendly match held at the Moi International Stadium.
