Véron Mosengo unveils new FECOFA executive committee to lead Congolese football rebuild
A new chapter has officially begun for football in the Democratic Republic of Congo after the installation of the new executive committee of the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA), led by newly elected president Véron Mosengo Omba.
The announcement marks the beginning of what the federation hopes will become a period of restructuring and renewal for Congolese football, with the new leadership promising reforms aimed at modernising the sport across the country.
At the centre of this new direction is the slogan promoted by Mosengo Omba during his rise to the presidency: “Rebuild to structure, structure to win.”
The phrase has quickly become the guiding message of the new administration, reflecting the federation’s intention to strengthen its organisation before seeking sporting success at national and international level.
To carry out that project, the new FECOFA president has surrounded himself with a leadership team made up of four vice-presidents and several executive members tasked with overseeing different areas of football administration.
José Dayoni Wawa has been appointed First Vice-President, while Amadou Diaby will serve as Second Vice-President.
Lolo Mosango takes the role of Third Vice-President, with Véronique Singa completing the vice-presidential structure as Fourth Vice-President.
Together, the group will be responsible for helping implement the federation’s restructuring programme at both administrative and technical level.
The installation of the new executive committee comes at an important moment for Congolese football, which is seeking stability and long-term direction after several difficult periods within the sport’s administration.
The federation’s new leadership has already made clear that improving governance and strengthening football structures will be among its immediate priorities.
The executive committee announced by FECOFA includes a combination of experienced administrators and new figures expected to contribute to the federation’s future plans.
The complete composition of the committee is as follows:
President: Véron Mosengo Omba
1st Vice-President: José Dayoni Wawa
2nd Vice-President: Amadou Diaby
3rd Vice-President: Lolo Mosango
4th Vice-President: Véronique Singa
Members:
Dieudonné Kashiko
Geneviève Lukusa
Solange Masumbuko
Chadrack Ngiama
Jean Kamuena
Innocent Lelo
Jeff Kapondo
Daudet Mputu
Adolphe Nkoy
Eric Kalala
The new administration now faces the challenge of translating its promises into practical reforms capable of improving football management throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For many observers, the composition of the committee reflects an effort to establish broader collaboration within the federation while creating a structure capable of handling the demands of modern football administration.
Mosengo Omba’s arrival at the head of FECOFA has already attracted significant attention in African football circles because of his previous experience within international football institutions.
That background is viewed by many as an important advantage as the federation attempts to strengthen its relationship with organisations such as FIFA and CAF while improving football development domestically.
The new committee’s immediate objectives are expected to focus on rebuilding confidence within Congolese football structures and laying stronger foundations for the future.
The slogan “Rebuild to structure, structure to win” also highlights the federation’s belief that sporting success can only come through organisational stability and long-term planning.
Supporters and football stakeholders across the country will now closely watch how quickly the new leadership begins implementing its programme.
The expectations surrounding the new executive committee remain high, particularly given the importance of football in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the sport occupies a central place in national life.
The leadership team will also be expected to create conditions that can help improve football management, organisation and competitiveness across all levels of the game.
While the official installation represents an important first step, the real test for the new FECOFA administration will come through the decisions and reforms introduced over the coming months.
For now, the federation has signalled its intention to move into a new phase built around structure, unity and long-term development.
With Véron Mosengo Omba now officially in charge and a full executive committee in place, Congolese football begins a new era carrying both ambition and expectation.
