Venezuelan midfielder Edson Castillo has become a free agent after parting ways with South African club, Kaizer Chiefs.
The 31-year-old midfield enforcer leaves the Soweto giants on mutual consent, bringing an end to his two-year spell at the club.
Having left the Soweto giants, he is expected to find himself a new club before the commencement of the new season.
Edson Castillo was left out of the squad that traveled to the Netherlands for a two-week pre-season training camp.
He joined the Kaizer Chiefs in 2023 from Venezuelan club Monagas as a free agent. During his spell at the club, Edson made 41 appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
Currently, the Venezuelan midfielder’s transfer value is estimated at 300,000 euros.
Kaizer Chiefs are keen on bolstering their squad for the new season and has already captured the services of five players this summer.
