Van Bronckhorst keen to keep Hadj Moussa at Feyenoord amid transfer interest

Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made it clear that Anis Hadj Moussa remains an important part of his plans despite ongoing speculation linking the Algeria international with a move away from the Dutch club.

Hadj Moussa was present at Feyenoord’s pre-season training camp in Tubize, Belgium, on Friday, taking part in his first training session under Van Bronckhorst as preparations for the new campaign continued.

His appearance came amid persistent reports surrounding his future, with several European clubs monitoring his situation.

Among those linked with the forward is Portuguese side Sporting CP, who have emerged as one of the strongest contenders for his signature.

However, Hadj Moussa remains a Feyenoord player for now and continues to prepare for the season while uncertainty over his future remains unresolved.

Van Bronckhorst acknowledged the level of interest in several members of his squad but stressed the importance of retaining quality players as Feyenoord look ahead to the new season.

“We have many players in high demand on the market. If we sold them all, we would have a lot of money, but not enough quality left in our squad,” the Dutch manager told De Telegraaf.

Hadj Moussa is regarded as one of the club’s most sought-after players following his performances, placing him alongside Japanese forward Ayase Ueda, who finished as Feyenoord’s leading scorer last season.

Although transfer speculation continues to surround both attackers, Van Bronckhorst indicated that he would have no hesitation in including them in his plans if they remain at the club when the campaign begins.

“If Anis or Ayase are still at Feyenoord at the start of the season, I’d be crazy not to play them.”

The comments provide the clearest indication yet of Hadj Moussa’s standing under the club’s new manager. While his long-term future has yet to be decided, the Algeria international has been assured that he remains firmly in Van Bronckhorst’s thinking.

The forward had already established himself as a key figure during Robin van Persie’s spell in charge, earning the trust of the former Feyenoord manager.
