Benjamin Angoua’s unavailability has been confirmed, with the Valenciennes coach revealing that the Ivorian international will be sidelined for a few weeks. “He suffers from a distortion of the lateral ligament of one knee. We knew with the MRI taken on Friday that it was of this severity,” said Ariel Jacob at a press conference. He added, “It will take a few weeks: with this kind of injury, one or two weeks is not enough to recover.”
Angoua, who lost his place to Carl Madjani at the start of the season, has been out of action since mid-December 2013. Meanwhile, Valenciennes faces challenges in the defensive sector, with Lindsay Rose still undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury, and Carl Madjani nursing a shoulder contusion sustained against Sochaux. Madjani’s availability for the upcoming match against Reims remains uncertain.
