Valencia complete signing of Mali midfielder Aliou Dieng on a two-year deal
Spanish La Liga club Valencia CF have officially completed the signing of Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng following his departure from Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC.
Dieng has signed a two-year contract with Valencia, keeping him at the Spanish club until June 2028 as he begins a new chapter in his career in European football.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder arrives with a strong reputation built during his successful spell at Al Ahly, where he established himself as one of Africa’s most reliable midfielders.
His performances helped the Cairo-based club dominate both domestic and continental competitions.
During his time with Al Ahly, Dieng won several major honours, including multiple Egyptian Premier League titles and CAF Champions League trophies, becoming a key figure in the club’s midfield engine room.
Valencia are hoping the Mali international’s physical strength, ball-winning ability and experience at the highest level of African football will add stability and quality to their midfield as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
The move represents a significant milestone for Dieng, who now gets the opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues after years of success with Al Ahly.
The Malian international is expected to join Valencia’s squad ahead of the new season as the club continues to strengthen its team with experienced additions.
