Vadis Odjidja Linked with Move Away from FC Bruges Amid Interest from Olympiakos and Other Clubs
By BBC Sport Staff
Vadis Odjidja’s five-year spell at FC Bruges could be coming to an end this summer, with the Belgian midfielder attracting interest from several clubs across Europe. Among the potential suitors, Greek giants Olympiakos are reportedly keen to bolster their midfield by securing the services of the Ghanaian-born player.
Although Odjidja has previously expressed ambitions to move either to England or return to Germany, the opportunity to join Olympiakos in Greece may soon become a concrete option. The Piraeus-based club is said to be preparing an offer for FC Bruges as they look to strengthen their squad.
Odjidja, who was notably absent from Marc Wilmots’ Belgium squad for the World Cup in Brazil, is believed to be seeking a move to a higher-profile club ahead of Euro 2016. The midfielder’s ambitions align with the desire to compete at the highest international level, and a transfer could be a significant step toward that goal.
Meanwhile, other clubs remain interested in Odjidja and his teammates. English side Aston Villa have been monitoring the Belgian international’s performances, while Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04, who finished third in the German league last season, have reportedly shown interest in Bruges’ right-back as well. German sports newspaper Kicker has even cited a potential transfer fee of around five million euros.
Under contract until June 2016, Vadis Odjidja’s next move will be closely watched as he considers his options in the transfer market this summer.
