Usman Ajibona: Nigerian winger joins Torpedo Moscow on loan from Alashkert FC
Torpedo Moscow have signed Nigerian right winger Usman Ajibona on loan from Armenian side Alashkert FC. The 19-year-old moves to the Russian club for the 2026-27 season, with the deal recorded as a loan transfer.
Ajibona, who stands at 1.73m, joins Torpedo after a spell in Armenia in which he was on the books of both Alashkert FC and Gandzasar. He is under contract with Alashkert until summer 2027 and will return there at the end of his loan in Russia, with the move structured as a temporary switch rather than a permanent departure.
The Lagos-born wide player, whose current market value is listed at 75,000, only joined Alashkert permanently in July 2025 after initially arriving in Armenian football with FC Van earlier that year on a free transfer from FDC Vista. He then spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Gandzasar before rejoining Alashkert in February 2026.
Ajibona is yet to feature for Torpedo Moscow in competitive action and has not made an appearance in their UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign so far this season. He is primarily deployed on the right flank of the attack, giving Torpedo an additional option in wide areas as they prepare for their 1.Division campaign.
The agreement means Ajibona will spend the 2026-27 season with Torpedo Moscow before his loan from Alashkert FC expires on 30 June 2027.
