USM Oujda recruit Morocco defender Issam Kaabouni after CM El Marsa exit
Issam Kaabouni has joined USM Oujda, with the Morocco left-back moving from CM El Marsa on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old completed the switch on 5 August 2026 after one season with CM El Marsa. Kaabouni’s arrival adds an experienced defender to the Oujda squad, with the Fes-born player able to operate at left-back despite being right-footed.
Kaabouni began his recent run of club moves with CSH Tarast in 2020, before joining Amal Tiznit in 2021. He then moved to JS Massira in 2023 and switched to CM El Marsa in July 2025, also on a free transfer. His latest move represents a return to a Moroccan club after his season with El Marsa.
He has already featured in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine during the 2026-27 campaign, making one appearance and playing 120 minutes. He is also registered for the Excellence Cup.
The defender stands 1.79m tall and has remained within Morocco’s domestic game throughout the recorded stages of his senior career. His move to USM Oujda continues a sequence of transfers completed without a fee, following his previous changes from CSH Tarast to Amal Tiznit, Amal Tiznit to JS Massira, and JS Massira to CM El Marsa.
Kaabouni’s contract length with USM Oujda has not been stated, but the transfer was completed on the opening day of his new spell with the club. The move places the Morocco international at his latest club after a career path that has taken him through CSH Tarast, Amal Tiznit, JS Massira and CM El Marsa.
USM Oujda have completed the free-transfer signing of Issam Kaabouni from CM El Marsa.
