USM Alger clinches victory over Taraji Mostaganem, ties with Mouloudia at the top of the league
The intense clash, part of the fourth round of the league schedule, saw USM Alger take the lead with a decisive goal scored by Senegalese forward Sékou Gassama in the 26th minute.
Gassama’s precise strike proved to be the difference as the visiting team managed to hold on to their slender lead for the remainder of the match.
USM Alger’s victory boosts their total points to 11, putting them on par with Mouloudia Alger at the summit of the league table.
The win marks an important step for the club as they continue to build momentum in their quest for the championship this season.
Meanwhile, Taraji Mostaganem’s struggles continued as they suffered a home defeat that leaves them with just four points from their matches so far, placing them in 13th position.
Despite putting up a strong fight, the hosts were unable to break through USM Alger’s defense, which remained resilient throughout the game.
With the victory, USM Alger demonstrated their intent to compete fiercely for the league title this year, capitalizing on every opportunity to secure maximum points.
The team will now look to maintain their form in upcoming fixtures, as the battle for the top spot in the league intensifies.
