AS Monaco forward Folarin Balogun is enjoying a standout season, continuing his impressive form with a goal in the team’s 2-0 victory over Stade Brestois at the weekend.

The 24-year-old striker, who is of Nigerian descent, now has 14 goals across all competitions, surpassing his combined tally from his previous two seasons at the club. Balogun has found the net in each of his last four Ligue 1 appearances, helping propel Monaco back into contention for European competition.

The Principality side, which struggled in midtable as recently as early February, now sits in sixth place.

Speaking to Get French Football News, former professional Sébastien Pocognoli lauded Balogun’s dedication and influence on the team. “He is working for this consistency,” Pocognoli said.

“I think his level of performance is pushing all of the players in his sector of the pitch. He is simply reaping the rewards of his hard work. He is ambitious, focused, professional… in the end, you reap what you sew.”

Balogun’s form comes in a critical year for the United States Men’s National Team, as the forward seeks to carry his club momentum into the World Cup.
