US Monastirienne extended their lead at the top of the Tunisian Ligue 1 table following Sunday’s early kick-off matches on Matchday 27, setting the tone for a tense conclusion to the league season.
With all three scheduled fixtures in the afternoon completed, Monastirienne now sit firmly at the summit with 59 points from 27 games.
Their consistency throughout the campaign has kept them ahead in what has developed into a tightly contested title race.
Espérance de Tunis, currently second with 56 points, have the advantage of a game in hand and remain serious contenders for the title.
Close behind them is Etoile du Sahel on 54 points, also having played 26 matches.
Club Africain rounds out the top four with 53 points from the same number of fixtures, making the top of the table a fiercely competitive zone with little separating the leading pack.
Espérance de Zarzis, who have already completed 27 matches, hold fifth place with 50 points, while Stade Tunisien sits in sixth with 45.
The mid-table picture sees Club Sportif Sfaxien with 38 points, followed by ES Métlaoui on 36.
The battle in the lower half of the table is no less compelling.
CA Bizertin and Olympique de Béja are both on 29 points, sharing ninth place as they work to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
AS Soliman follows closely on 26 points, with US Ben Guerdane at 24.
Further down, JS Omrane has 22 points, narrowly above the drop zone.
EGS Gafsa and AS Gabés are level with 21 points, though Gafsa has a game in hand.
At the bottom of the table, US Tataouine remains in danger with just 18 points from 27 matches.
With only a few rounds remaining in the season, the race for the championship remains open, while the fight for survival is poised to go down to the wire.
The coming weeks will prove decisive for clubs across all tiers of the table, with pressure mounting and margins tighter than ever.
