Tunisia’s Union Sportive Monastirienne has secured the signing of promising Franco-Tunisian attacking midfielder Mehdi Ganouni, a 19-year-old player trained at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Ganouni has committed to a three-year contract with the Tunisian club, marking a significant step in his burgeoning football career.

Ganouni’s football journey began at PSG, one of Europe’s most prestigious football academies.

He first showcased his talent with PSG’s U17 team before progressing through the ranks to the U19s, where he honed his skills as an attacking midfielder.

Known for his technical ability and vision on the field, Ganouni has been regarded as a young player with great potential.

Ganouni arrives in Monastir after a stint with French Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque, where he spent last season.

His experience in France’s second division provided him with valuable exposure to professional football, further solidifying his credentials.

It was this experience that caught the attention of US Monastir, who were keen to bring in the versatile midfielder to strengthen their squad.

US Monastir, currently enjoying a strong start to the season, is looking to build on their early success both domestically and in continental competition.

The Monastir club recently advanced to the second round of the CAF Champions League after overcoming Chadian champions AS PSI with a 1-0 victory in the first leg and a 2-0 win in the return leg.

Their next challenge in the tournament will be against Algerian club MC Alger, a fixture that is sure to test their mettle.

Domestically, US Monastir opened their Tunisian league campaign with a solid performance, holding CA Bizertin to a 0-0 draw in their first match of the season.

Ganouni’s arrival is expected to add further depth and creativity to the squad as they aim for success on multiple fronts.

Ganouni’s addition to the Monastir side is seen as a strategic move, bringing both youth and experience to a team that is looking to compete at the highest levels of African football.

As the young midfielder settles into his new environment, all eyes will be on how he adapts to Tunisian football and contributes to his new club’s ambitions.

With his background at PSG and a season of professional football under his belt, Ganouni is poised to make a strong impact at US Monastir.

The club’s supporters and management alike are hopeful that Ganouni’s presence will enhance their squad’s dynamics, helping them continue their positive start to the season and achieve greater success in both the domestic league and the CAF Champions League.
