Jürgen Klinsmann’s tenure as the coach of the United States national football team has been extended for an additional four years. Despite his contract originally set to expire in June, the American Football Federation has announced the extension, confirming that Klinsmann will continue coaching the USA team until 2018.
Since taking charge in 2011, Klinsmann has achieved a promising record, with 27 victories, 7 draws, and 10 defeats. Under his guidance, the United States also secured qualification for the next World Cup by finishing first in the Concacaf zone, ahead of Mexico. The announcement comes ahead of the USA’s participation in the World Cup in Brazil, where they are drawn into a challenging group with Germany, Portugal, and Ghana.
The extension of Klinsmann’s contract suggests confidence in his coaching abilities and a belief that he can lead the national team to success in upcoming competitions, including the World Cup in Brazil.
