Union Yacoub El-Mansour shows great fight to hold RS Berkane in thrilling draw

Union Yacoub El-Mansour displayed resilience as they battled to a dramatic 3-3 draw against RS Berkane in a postponed third-round clash of the Professional League on Wednesday.

The visitors were stunned early when Oussama Melioui opened the scoring for Berkane in the third minute. Two minutes later, Youssef Mihri doubled the advantage, putting Berkane firmly in control.

The Rabat side refused to be silenced. Zakaria Fati quickly pulled one back in the eighth minute, offering hope of a comeback. But Berkane restored their cushion when Melioui struck again in the 38th minute, completing his brace.

After the break, Union Yacoub El-Mansour fought back with determination. Fati struck once more in the 58th minute, before Jamal Eddine El Khafif leveled the contest in the 65th minute to the delight of their supporters.

The result means Berkane now sit on seven points, joining Maghreb de Fes, Raja Casablanca, and Wydad Casablanca at the top. Union Yacoub El-Mansour, with two points, are placed eleventh.

Next, Union Yacoub El-Mansour face Olympique Dcheira on October 5 while Berkane play Union Touarga Sport the same day.
