The Roshn Saudi League is set to welcome another emerging Moroccan talent, with Al Fateh close to signing Union Touarga playmaker Houssam Essadek during the current 2026-27 summer transfer window.
Reliable journalist Santi Aouna reported that the 21-year-old is expected to join Al Fateh on loan for one season. An agreement has been reached with both Union Touarga and the player, according to Aouna, who shared the update on his personal account on X.
Essadek would become the eighth Moroccan player to appear in the Roshn Saudi League during the current campaign. He would also be the third Moroccan footballer in Al Fateh’s squad, following Marouane Saadane and Mourad Batna.
The proposed move would represent the latest step in the development of a player regarded as one of the rising prospects in Moroccan football. Essadek has been part of Union Touarga’s first team since 2024 and has continued to build his senior experience with the club.
His most notable appearances so far came with Morocco Under-20s at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Morocco made history by winning the tournament, with Essadek featuring in five of their seven matches.
Although he did not contribute a goal or assist during the competition, his involvement in five games formed part of Morocco’s successful campaign and helped raise his profile beyond domestic football.
A move to Al Fateh would give Essadek the opportunity to continue his progression in Saudi Arabia, while adding another Moroccan name to the growing number of players from the country appearing in the Roshn Saudi League.
The transfer remains dependent on the completion of the final formalities, but the agreement between the Saudi club, Union Touarga and Essadek means the player is now close to making the move.
Al Fateh already has Moroccan representation through Saadane and Batna. Should Essadek arrive as expected, the club would have three Moroccan players for the 2026-27 season, while Morocco’s overall representation in the Saudi top flight would rise to eight players.
Tickets for Roshn Saudi League matches are available for supporters.
