Uncertainty surrounds Romeo Lavia’s injury return

Head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca is uncertain about the injury return of Belgium international of Ghanaian descent Romeo Lavia.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been out of action since November 5 after picking up an injury in the sides Champions League match against Qarabag FK.

Lavia, who joined Chelsea from Southampton has been limited to just seven appearances for the Blues across competitions this season.

As the team gears up for the upcoming premier League clash against Bournemouth, Maresca has disclosed he is uncertain about the return of the midfielder.

“We don’t know when Romeo Lavia will be able to come back. It’s a muscle problem. We don’t know whether it’s a long-term or short-term issue,” the Chelsea manager admitted.

The reigning FIFA Club World Cup holders will travel to face the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Having suffered defeat to Leeds United in mid-week, the Premier League giants will be hoping to beat Bournemouth in order to return to winning ways.
