Uncertainty surrounds Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat’s injury return
Real Betis midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is expected to miss Morocco’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying games due to an injury setback.
The former Fiorentina and Manchester United midfielder suffered an injury setback while in action for Real Betis during their Europa League match against Ludogorets Razgrad.
However, the Spanish outfit has confirmed Amrabat’s injury blow, ruling him out of the final round of the qualifiers this week.
Despite confirming the injury setback, Real Betis could not disclose Amrabat’s injury return date.
“Sofyan Amrabat is suffering from a post-contusive myofascial injury to the right rectus femoris muscle, a consequence of a collision against Ludogorets Razgrad. His return to the squad will depend on his progress”, Betis said.
Meanwhile, Morocco will miss the services of other several key players including Soufiane Rahimi, Oussama El Azzouzi, and Azzedine Ounahi.
Morocco will take on Bahrain and Congo-Brazzaville on October 9 and 14. The Atlas Lions has already booked a place for the biggest soccer mundial.
