Uncertainty surrounds injury return date for Malawi and Richard Bay star Gabadinho Mhango

South African outfit Richard Bay risk losing influential midfielder Gabadinho Mhango for a longer period due to an injury setback.

The 33-year-old experienced midfielder nursing an injury, with coach Ronnie Gabriel unable to disclose the return date of the player. The Malawi international will be out of the team for an indefinite period due to the setback.

“Gabadinho is still on the injury table, looks like a long-term injury,” said Gabriel. “We just will be able to confirm going forward how many months” said coach Ronnie Gabriel

Gabadinho Mhango has made 14 appearances in the South Africa Premier League this season, scoring four goals across the period for the club. In all competitions, the midfielder has racked up 17 matches.

The injury setback come as a huge blow for Richard Bay, as the South African top-flight heats up. Richard Bay are currently 9th on the league standings with 19 points after 16 matches into the campaign.

At the international level, Gabadinho Mhango has established himself as one of their top stars, racking up 68 matches and scoring 17 goals since making his debut in 2012.
