The use of VAR in the upcoming round of Tunisian Ligue 1 fixtures remains uncertain, as Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) president Moez Nasri has yet to confirm its availability.
Speaking after the Tunisian Super Cup final, Nasri stated that more time is needed to receive and install the necessary technical equipment across the league’s stadiums.
This casts doubt over whether VAR will be operational for the 20th round of matches scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The statement contradicts an earlier announcement from the FTF on February 10, which had assured that VAR would be introduced in Ligue 1 starting from matchday 20.
The delay raises concerns among clubs and officials who had anticipated the technology’s implementation to assist referees and reduce controversial decisions.
As preparations continue, teams will await further clarification from the federation regarding whether VAR will be in place for the upcoming matches or if its introduction will be postponed once again.
