Umar Sadiq made a successful debut for Valencia as the club secured a 2-0 victory over Eldense in the Copa del Rey round of 32 on Tuesday evening.
Sadiq, who joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad earlier this season, was introduced as a substitute in the 58th minute.
His arrival on the pitch helped solidify Valencia’s position as they comfortably advanced to the next round of the prestigious competition.
The game had already been decided by two first-half goals from Sergi Canos and Diego Lopez. Canos opened the scoring in the ninth minute, while Lopez doubled the lead in the 39th minute.
The result was particularly significant for Valencia, as it ended a five-match losing streak and provided a much-needed boost for the team.
For Sadiq, this match marked his first appearance for Valencia, following a challenging period at Real Sociedad where he had yet to find the back of the net in his seven La Liga outings.
Despite not being on the score sheet in his debut for the club, Sadiq’s involvement in the match was seen as a positive step as he looks to regain form and confidence in his new environment.
The victory has brought relief to Valencia and their supporters, who have endured a difficult start to the season.
The club will now look to build on this success as they turn their attention to upcoming fixtures in both the league and cup competitions.
Sadiq’s performance, alongside the goals from Canos and Lopez, gave Valencia a much-needed morale boost, and his debut could be the spark the club needs to turn their fortunes around.
