Hoverla dominated their home match against Volyn on Sunday as part of the 27th day of the Ukrainian championship, securing a resounding 6-0 victory. Togolese defender Serge Akakpo notably scored his first goal for the club during this match.
The scoring started early with Shatskikh finding the net in the 3rd minute, followed by Akakpo doubling the lead in the 19th minute, marking his debut goal since joining the club in January. Fescuk extended Hoverla’s advantage further before halftime, making it 3-0.
After the break, Hoverla continued their goal spree, with Akakpo and his teammates taking full advantage of a red card against Skoba from the Volyn side. Cocis, Lysytsky, and Sharpar each contributed a goal, bringing the final score to 6-0 in favor of Hoverla.
Hoverla currently sits 13th in the standings, while Volyn occupies the 12th position in a championship largely dominated by Shakhtar Donetsk.
