During the second day of the UEMOA Tournament group stages, high-scoring matches took center stage. On Monday, Burkina Faso dominated Togo with a convincing 4-0 victory in Group A. Tuesday saw action in Group B, where Benin, after being held in check on the first day, left no chance for Guinea Bissau.
Benin secured a resounding 5-0 win, with Fémi Adjai opening the scoring in the 11th minute. Although the Squirrels couldn’t add to their tally before halftime, the second half saw Ezékiel Okotou adding another goal, followed by a festival of goals from Naim Djibril, who scored a double. The Bissau-Guineans faced added misery as Idrisss Bakary sealed the Benin victory in added time (91st minute).
With this result, Benin now sits at the top of Group B with 4 points, pending the outcome of the Senegal-Niger match.
