UCL: Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen out of Galatasaray squad for Frankfurt game due to injury
Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has been excluded from the Galatasaray squad for their UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Turkish Super Lig champions will lock horns with the German opponent on Thursday, September 18, in their opening match of the new Champions League season.
The Turkish Super Lig champions named a 26-man squad for the Group Stage opener at the Deutsche Bank Park, but Osimhen was not included after sustaining an injury while on international duty with Nigeria during their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi.
His absence is a major blow for Galatasaray as they begin their European campaign against the Bundesliga side.
Galatasaray are hoping Victor Osimhen will recover as soon as possible to help them compete for not just the UEFA Champions League, but all other competitions.
