Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi provided the assist for PSG’s winning goal against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

On the matchday, the Spanish giants struck first in the 19th minute when Marcus Rashford picked out Ferran Torres inside the box, and the forward made no mistake with a clinical finish into the bottom left corner to put Barcelona ahead.

PSG responded before the break, and in the 38th minute, Nuno Mendes delivered a perfectly weighted through ball to youngster Senny Mayulu, who kept his composure to slot home and bring the French side level.

Just when it seemed the game was headed for a draw, Hakimi stepped up in the final moments. In the 90th minute, the Moroccan full-back showed his vision and precision, threading a pass to Goncalo Ramos, who calmly finished low into the net to secure a dramatic 2-1 win for PSG.

The victory proves PSG’s status as a force in the UEFA Champions League this season, having only won the trophy last season.

Hakimi and his teammates return to Spain with confidence, heading into the upcoming games.
