UCL: Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Addai scores to seal 2-0 win for Qarabag against FC Copenhagen
Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Addai climbed off the FK Qarabag bench on Wednesday night, scoring to seal a 2-0 win for the side against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
The Azerbaijani champions broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when Abdellah Zoubir reacted quickly to a fortunate rebound, slotting home from close range to put his side in front.
In the 70th minute, coach Qurban Qurbanov introduced Addai, replacing Oleksii Kashchuk in a tactical switch aimed at injecting more pace and energy into Qarabag’s attack.
The substitution paid off brilliantly just 13 minutes later. Addai produced a moment of magic in the 83rd minute, weaving past defenders before unleashing a powerful long-range strike that flew into the bottom left corner. His goal left the fans in awe and secured all three points for the home side.
Qarabag’s win strengthens their position in the competition. The team has now won their first two matches of the campaign and will be looking confident heading into the upcoming matches.
