UCL: Belgian-Ghanaian attacker Jeremy Doku on target for Manchester City in 2-0 victory against Napoli
Belgian attacker of Ghanaian descent, Jeremy Doku, was on target for Manchester City on Thursday night, helping the side to overcome SSC Napoli with a 2-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League.
The dynamic winger started the match at the Etihad Stadium and delivered a standout performance for his side.
Napoli entered the contest with confidence but suffered a setback in the 21st minute when Giovanni Di Lorenzo was sent off, forcing the Serie A champions to play with ten men.
Despite holding off Manchester City until halftime, Napoli’s defence eventually gave way in the second half. The hosts broke the deadlock in the 56th minute through Erling Haaland.
Nine minutes later, Jeremy Doku added the second goal, finishing off an assist from Tijjani Reijnders after a dazzling display throughout the evening.
Doku played 69 minutes and received a match rating of 8.7 [according to Flashscore], the highest among all players on the pitch.
